Christine ‘Chris’ Lang

Self-knowledge grows when someone is genuinely in your corner.

About Me

Chris Lang’s approach to therapy centers on genuine connection — meeting clients where they are and building the kind of trust that makes real self-exploration possible. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Santa Cruz, she has spent roughly two decades working across a wide range of settings: high school and grade school counseling, grief support with Hospice of Santa Cruz, suicide prevention, and family services along the Central Coast. That breadth informs a practice that feels grounded rather than clinical.

She works with children, teenagers, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, family conflict, and the particular exhaustion that comes from carrying stress everywhere — the worry that doesn’t stop when the workday ends, the anxiety that gets louder in the quiet hours at night. Her training includes advanced work in child play therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) at Levels 1 through 3, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Chris holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a B.A. in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz. She is an active member of both the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and its Santa Cruz chapter, and offers sessions online as well as in person.
