When life has quietly accumulated more weight than a person can carry alone β a fraying marriage, a career that no longer fits, a body worn down by chronic pain β that is often the moment Cristina Dumitrescu’s clients first reach out. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, adjustment, burnout, and the full range of family pressures that accumulate across a life: separation, co-parenting, aging parents, the grief of roles that have shifted.
Cristina’s practice is grounded in mindfulness β not as a technique applied from the outside, but as a way of helping people return to present-moment awareness, the only place where real change can take hold. She draws on Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Reality Therapy, adapting her approach to each person’s situation. She holds that the body, mind, and spirit are inseparable, and that part of her work is helping clients listen to what their body is already trying to tell them β something that is harder than ever when the habit of reaching for a phone has quietly replaced the habit of sitting with one’s own thoughts.
A Registered Psychologist with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, Cristina trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management. She sees clients in Regina and offers online sessions.
