Cynthia Valentine builds her therapy practice around a simple conviction: that understanding yourself more fully is what makes lasting change possible. Working through Internal Family Systems — a model that treats the anxious part, the guarded part, the exhausted part as meaningful rather than broken — she helps clients move toward greater emotional steadiness without having to fight their own inner experience. As a Level 1 Trained IFS Therapist and an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, Cynthia brings a collaborative, grounded presence to sessions that are deliberately paced to respect each person’s nervous system and history.
Cynthia works with teenagers, young adults, men, women, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, personality and mood disorders, alcohol and drug addiction, abuse recovery, and the particular overwhelm that can accompany ADHD in adulthood. She also supports people working through professional burnout and career transitions. Sessions are available via telehealth across California and Michigan.
Clients describe her as warm, direct, and genuinely human — someone who offers clear guidance rather than vague reassurance, and who meets all parts of a person without judgment. Therapy with Cynthia is less about arriving somewhere fixed and more about learning to move forward with intention.
