Devorah Peterson brings a quietly radical conviction to her counselling work: that the people who come to see her already carry the wisdom they need. Her role, as she sees it, is to help clients reach that inner resource and trust it — moving from anxious self-management toward a fuller, more grounded way of living. Rooted in over two decades of private practice, Devorah works as much with a person’s strengths and latent capacities as she does with their pain.
She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and has spent more than ten years training fellow counsellors. Her practice extends into creative process work — she has supported writers, artists, and others navigating the particular pressures of a creative life — as well as Interfaith Spiritual Guidance for those sitting with questions of purpose and meaning. She finds these questions especially alive at midlife. When couples arrive describing how a phone at the dinner table has quietly replaced conversation, that too becomes material for the work.
Based in Vancouver, Devorah works with individuals, couples, families, men, women, teenagers, and older adults facing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, burnout, and career transitions. Online sessions are available.
