From the very first session, Gail Paterson wants you to feel something most people haven’t felt in a long time: genuinely heard. There’s no pressure to arrive with the right words or a tidy account of what’s wrong. Many of the people she works with are carrying weight they can’t quite name — the anxiety that spikes at midnight when the phone is still in hand, the grief that won’t settle, the sense that life has quietly shifted into something unrecognizable.
Gail is a Registered Clinical Social Worker based in Burlington, Ontario, working with teenagers, young adults, men, and women navigating anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, family conflict, workplace burnout, and the lasting effects of abuse. She draws on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, emotion-focused and interpersonal approaches, and psychoeducation — and for those who are open to it, Restorative Yoga as a way of processing what talk alone sometimes can’t reach. Online sessions are available.
Her work is grounded in a genuine belief in the mind-body-soul connection: that lasting change doesn’t come from perfection, but from building the inner capacity to meet imperfection with acceptance and self-compassion. Your values, your experiences, and your sense of what a meaningful life looks like are always at the centre of the work.
