People navigating strained relationships, difficult transitions, or the slow accumulation of stress that never quite switches off — even after the workday ends — are the clients Gillian Saxby has built her practice around. Working from Courtenay, British Columbia, she holds a Master of Counselling Psychology and practices as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, bringing particular depth to relationship dynamics, family conflict, grief, addiction, and the effects of abuse and trauma.
Since 2016, Gillian has woven a professional mediation background into her counselling work, offering something less common: a genuinely blended approach to conflict that combines emotional support with practical communication and resolution skills. Her framework is trauma-informed and person-centred, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and body-centred practices. As a certified yoga instructor, she integrates breath and somatic awareness where they serve a client’s goals.
Gillian works with individuals, couples, and families — including women, teens, and older adults — helping them understand the patterns shaping their relationships and move forward with more clarity and confidence. Sessions are available in person in the Comox Valley and online.
