With 24 years in the therapy field — including two decades as an Accredited Music Therapist before earning her Master’s in Counselling Psychology — Heather Pattern brings an unusually layered understanding of how people heal. That background shapes everything about how she works: attentively, collaboratively, and with deep respect for each person’s pace and story.
Heather works with teenagers, women, adults, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship strain, substance use, and life transitions. She’s equally at home helping a teenager untangle the pressure of managing friendships both in person and across a dozen open tabs, and supporting an elderly client through exploitation or loss. Her practice in South Surrey is available in person, by phone, or online.
She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches — CBT, person-centred therapy, Gottman method, Adlerian and existential frameworks, and a consistently feminist, culturally sensitive lens — adapting her methods to each client rather than the other way around. Her aim is straightforward: to help people develop self-awareness, build resilience, and move through whatever they’re carrying with a little more strength than before.
