Jeremy Mayer’s practice is built on a simple conviction: that real change happens inside a genuine relationship. Working from Kingston, Ontario, the Registered Social Worker draws on thirty years of clinical experience and an eclectic toolkit β Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Narrative, and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic therapies among them β always choosing the approach that fits the person in the room rather than the other way around. Honesty and respect aren’t values he posts on a wall; they show up in how he runs a session, from starting on time to sitting with a client through the harder conversations.
Jeremy holds dual certifications in addiction counselling and sex addiction therapy, and much of his work centres on people wrestling with substance use, compulsive behaviours, and the life disruption those struggles cause. He also works with survivors of abuse, people navigating anxiety and mood disorders, and professionals worn thin by burnout. When conflict that once happened face-to-face now plays out in a thread of sharp texts read at midnight, the emotional work is no less real β and that’s territory he knows well.
His goal is concrete: help clients feel better, cope more effectively, and move through daily life with greater ease. Sessions are available in person in Kingston or online through a secure, encrypted platform. Jeremy also offers services in French.
