Young people wrestling with the weight of their problems often find in Kirsteen Moore someone who speaks their language β whether that’s conventional or decidedly not. A Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Kirsteen has spent nearly three decades working with youth, young adults, and families across B.C., bringing a warmth and irreverence that tends to land well with the people most resistant to traditional therapy.
Her practice is grounded in Narrative Therapy β the idea that clients are more than the difficult stories they carry about themselves, and that there are other stories worth recovering and building on. She works with teenagers, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, abuse, family conflict, divorce, and the particular pressures of adolescence. Humour and genuine connection are as central to her sessions as any clinical framework, and she sometimes draws on art, drama, or music to open up space that talk alone might not reach.
Kirsteen holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a B.A. in Child and Youth Care, a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She sees youth and adults, and offers online sessions alongside her island-based practice.
