Years of hands-on work — from answering crisis hotlines and staffing a community college counseling center to conducting research on suicidal ideation — gave Mónica López a grounded, clear-eyed understanding of what people actually face when they seek support. Trained in CBT, DBT, and Person-Centered Therapy, and holding both a Master of Science and a Master of Education Specialist Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University, she brings genuine depth to every conversation she enters.
Mónica works with teenagers, adults, couples, and families across a wide range of concerns: anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, chronic illness, domestic abuse, family conflict, and more. She also supports people who scroll through a full feed of messages at the end of the day and still feel like no one really heard them — and she meets that kind of ache without judgment. As a bilingual counselor fluent in English and Spanish, she is able to connect with clients in the language that feels most natural to them.
Her approach centers on honest, meaningful exchange — offering both support and practical tools while trusting that each person already holds the capacity to grow. Online sessions are available for clients in Colorado.
