Twenty years of work at the intersection of trauma healing, relational depth, and contemplative practice have shaped Pamela Richardson into a counsellor whose approach is both rigorously grounded and quietly attentive. Her training spans Interpersonal Neurobiology, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma, alongside a graduate certification in Contemplative Psychotherapy and a Ph.D. focused on Developmental Psychology and arts-based practice. She has worked with survivors of childhood abuse and sexual trauma, supported family caregivers navigating crisis, and taught and researched at the university level β experience that informs the care and precision she brings to private practice.
Based in Victoria, BC, Pamela works with adults, couples, and families in person and online, and facilitates groups. She helps people carrying the weight of complex trauma, grief, burnout, anxiety, relational wounds, and the quiet exhaustion that builds when an overloaded life β the inbox that never fully closes, the 2 a.m. spiral through a phone β leaves no room for actual rest or reflection. She warmly welcomes LGBTQIA2S+ and neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism, ADHD, and related profiles, and accepts clients eligible for coverage through the First Nations Health Authority.
Pamela integrates mindfulness and compassion practices with established Western therapeutic frameworks, holding each person’s process with what she describes as sacred care β an unhurried attentiveness to the root causes beneath everyday suffering, rather than its surface symptoms alone.
