Todd Harvey

Most people contact Todd Harvey when something has broken down badly enough that they can no longer explain it away — a relationship caught in the same damaging loop, a trauma that keeps flooding back, or a private life that simply isn’t working. Harvey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Berkeley, California, and his practice centers on three areas: couples work, trauma resolution through EMDR, and individual depth therapy.

For couples, Harvey’s focus is less on communication scripts and more on the underlying emotional bond — restoring the empathic connection that gets buried under conflict. He works with premarital pairs, high-conflict couples, and partners stuck in patterns they can’t seem to exit on their own, including the common situation where one partner is skeptical about therapy altogether. When distraction and the pull of a dozen open tabs make it genuinely hard to stay present with the person sitting across from you, that fractured attention becomes part of what couples bring into the room — and part of what Harvey addresses. He also co-founded Couples Boot Camp, a small interactive group that blends skills practice with real experiential work.

In individual therapy, Harvey helps clients trace their current struggles — anxiety, depression, relational pain — back to the relational blueprints formed early in life, and then works to rewrite them through the therapeutic relationship itself. He sees adults across a wide range of concerns, including trauma survivors, those navigating mood and anxiety disorders, and people working through spiritual questions alongside the psychological ones.
