Tom Valek

At Touchstone Counseling, Tom Valek builds the kind of working relationship where real change becomes possible — with individuals, couples, families, and children navigating some of the harder stretches of life. His training spans individual and group counseling, marriage and family work, coaching, and career and spiritual counseling, and he draws on that range to meet each person where they actually are rather than where a template says they should be. When clients struggle to step back from the relentless pull of checking, scrolling, or staying reachable, he uses concrete communication and boundary-setting tools to help them rebuild the quieter routines that support mental health.

Tom holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Capella University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Purdue University, and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. His background includes non-profit agencies, private practice, and school settings — experience that shaped a grounded, practical approach to the anxiety, mood concerns, relationship difficulties, and family conflicts he most often helps people work through.

Based in Carmel, Indiana, Tom offers both in-person and online sessions. Outside the office he spends time with his family, gets out on the water, and catches a good movie when he can — the kind of balance he encourages in the people he works with.
