William Schroeder

Progress is built between sessions, not just inside them.

About Me

William Schroeder builds his practice around a simple conviction: lasting change happens when a client feels genuinely understood, not managed. The Austin-based Licensed Professional Counselor starts every session with the same two questions — what the client wants to focus on today, and what they’ve done differently since they last met — because he believes progress is made between sessions, not just during them. That rhythm of accountability and reflection runs through everything he does.

William works with teenagers, young adults, men, and women navigating anxiety, adjustment challenges, internet and gaming addiction, sexual addiction, relationship difficulty, and the particular pressures of professional life — including the kind of burnout that builds when the workday never quite ends and the phone is the last thing a person looks at before sleep. He has completed Level Two of Gottman couples counseling training, brings a somatic approach to individual work, and has deep experience supporting people with ADHD and high-functioning autism, many of whom come from the tech industry.

A free 30-minute consultation is available to all new clients, and sessions are offered online. William’s own life experience — relocating after Hurricane Katrina, moving through divorce — shapes the care and practicality he brings to each client’s story.
