Walking into a first session with Zakary Zarichney, clients often find something they didn’t expect: a room — virtual or otherwise — where they don’t have to perform wellness or explain away their pain. Zakary is a Registered Social Worker and Master of Social Work counsellor registered with the BC College of Social Workers, practicing out of Salmon Arm, BC. He works from a place of genuine warmth and anti-oppressive values, meeting each person where they actually are rather than where a clinical model says they should be.
Zakary supports individuals, couples, and families working through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, abuse, relationship conflict, infidelity, and the particular weight of separation and divorce — including parents trying to stay connected with their children when family life has fractured, or teens whose anxiety spills from classroom pressure straight onto their feeds and back again. His background in child protection and advocacy runs through everything he does, including specialized work with Views of the Child Reports and family reunification assessments.
His therapeutic toolkit spans EMDR, Gottman Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, and somatic and mindfulness approaches, always shaped to the person in front of him. Online sessions are available.
