Thomas Heroldt

Grounded in faith, focused on the whole person in front of him

About Me

With three decades of experience in mental health and substance abuse work, Thomas Heroldt brings a depth of formation that spans community mental health settings and private practice. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Niles College of Loyola University and a Master’s in Community Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University, where he later served as adjunct faculty. That combination of academic grounding and long clinical exposure shapes how he approaches the people who sit across from him.

Thomas works with teenagers, young adults, men, and women navigating a wide range of challenges — from anxiety, depression, and personality disorders to addiction, trauma, and the fractures that can run through a marriage or family. He notices that many clients arrive having spent years scrolling through other people’s highlight reels yet feeling unseen by the people closest to them, and he treats that quiet disconnection as seriously as any formal diagnosis.

Faith is not a footnote in Thomas’s practice — it is a foundation. For clients who want it, he draws on Scripture as a lens for understanding how to live well. Married for over two decades and a father of three, he brings personal as well as professional weight to the work of helping families hold together and individuals find their footing. Online sessions are available.
