From the first session, Christina Lang creates a sense of steadiness — a room where nothing needs to be performed or explained away. Clients often arrive carrying stress they’ve struggled to name, and they leave that initial hour feeling genuinely heard. That quality of grounded, unhurried attention is at the centre of how she works.
Christina supports children, individuals, couples, and families through a wide range of experiences: parenting stress, separation and co-parenting, neurodivergence, developmental disabilities, trauma, and the particular grief that comes with family conflict or major life transitions. Her play therapy practice focuses on children under 12, drawing on AutPlay Therapy, Polyvagal in the Playroom, and Synergetic Play Therapy — a body of training that reflects her deep commitment to working with neurodivergent and disabled children in affirming, dignity-preserving ways. She also offers behaviour consultation for families and caregivers who want to better understand the person they’re supporting.
Her therapeutic approach brings together Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, emotion-focused work, somatic practices, and polyvagal theory. She believes that conflict and tension often signal a drift from a person’s core values, and that slowing down to examine those patterns — with curiosity rather than judgment — is where real change begins. Christina works in person in Kamloops, BC, and offers online sessions.
