Cynthia Henrie

When someone finally picks up the phone — after months of pushing through alone, or years of carrying something that was never theirs to carry — Cynthia Henrie is the kind of therapist they find themselves hoping is on the other end. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles with twenty years of practice, she has built her work around the people who most often go without: trauma survivors, women navigating systems that were never built with them in mind, teens working out who they are, and adults still untangling what happened to them as children.

Her specialty is trauma in its many forms — sexual abuse, childhood neglect, domestic violence, rape and assault recovery, and the quieter wounds left by emotional and psychological harm. She works with individuals, families, and groups, and offers online sessions for those who need flexibility. The loneliness that can settle in when someone’s phone never stops buzzing but no conversation actually reaches them is something she recognizes as its own kind of wound — one that often brings people to her door alongside everything else they’re carrying.
