Change, for Erin Laird, begins in relationship. She believes that people are wired for community, and that genuine therapeutic partnership — built slowly, on trust — is what makes meaningful growth possible. Working from Victoria, British Columbia, she creates attentive, curious space for clients to explore what feels stuck, then advocates thoughtfully for the action that follows.
Erin’s practice draws on Somatic Transformation, an attachment-based trauma therapy rooted in neurobiology, alongside Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with its emphasis on mindfulness and cognitive skills. She works from a systems perspective, attending to how the spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual dimensions of a person’s life shape and influence one another. Her clinical work spans individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, abuse, mood and anxiety disorders, developmental disabilities, and the particular pressures of adolescence, parenting, and midlife caregiving.
A published author and experienced workshop facilitator, Erin has partnered with organizations across British Columbia to lead groups on emotional regulation, grief, sexuality, conflict, and parenting. Her background in education, community support, and raising children of her own informs a practice that is both rigorously grounded and deeply human. Online sessions are available.
