Lisa Thomson’s path to psychology runs through an unusually broad landscape β business, music, movement, work in schools, and years mentoring therapists just starting out. That range shapes how she practices. As a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist based in Alberta, Lisa brings a whole-person sensibility to work that might otherwise stay narrowly clinical, drawing on her own varied experiences to sit alongside the people she works with rather than at a remove from them.
She works with individuals, couples, families, and professionals β including executives and entrepreneurs β on concerns like anxiety, burnout, eating disorders, grief, relationship breakdown, life transitions, and the particular exhaustion that comes from never being fully off the clock when work arrives via every device and notification. Her therapeutic toolkit includes Client-Centred Therapy, SFBT, IFS, ACT, Narrative, Gottman, Imago, and Attachment-Based approaches, which she integrates fluidly depending on what each person actually needs.
Sessions are available online for Alberta residents. Lisa’s orientation is strengths-based throughout: rather than treating clients as problems to be fixed, she focuses on what they already carry β resilience, insight, capacity β and helps them move it in a new direction.
