People usually reach out to Louisa Link-McDowell when something has quietly broken down β a marriage under pressure, a teenager pulling away, a body that won’t sleep, a career that no longer fits. Whatever brings someone to her door, Louisa meets them at that specific point of strain rather than backing up to explain it away.
She works with individuals, couples, families, and groups across a wide range of concerns: abuse and trauma recovery, anxiety and mood disorders, family conflict and divorce, professional burnout, and crisis situations. Her practice spans age groups from adolescents through the elderly, and she brings the same grounded attention to a teen struggling with identity as to an adult navigating an aging parent’s care. She also notes that chronic sleep disruption has become one of the clearest signs that a nervous system is running on empty β something she sees regularly in people who haven’t truly been offline, in any sense, for years.
Louisa holds the Registered Clinical Counsellor designation and sees clients from her base in Vernon, British Columbia, with online sessions available for those elsewhere.
