Michelle Gay

Root causes, not just symptoms β€” change that reaches further than the session

About Me

Michelle Gay builds her counselling practice around a simple conviction: lasting change comes from understanding root causes, not just managing symptoms. Working with individuals, couples, families, and children in Victoria, BC, Michelle creates a confidential, non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely met β€” and where the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a foundation for growth. She offers sessions both in-person and online.

Her primary therapeutic tools are EMDR, Ego States Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic approaches β€” methods she has been applying to trauma work since 2012. She also offers EMDR intensives for those who want a more concentrated, flexible process. For colleagues in the field, Michelle serves as an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, facilitates EMDR practicums, and leads advanced workshops as an EMDRIA-approved credit provider. Her background in DBT, CBT, and mindfulness rounds out her work with emotional regulation, relationships, and boundaries.

Michelle works with children, teenagers, adults, and seniors navigating a wide range of concerns β€” from trauma, abuse, and addiction to anxiety, mood disorders, career stress, and the particular exhaustion of a job that never quite stops arriving on your phone. A free 20-minute consultation is available for anyone wondering whether working together might be the right fit.
