With more than two decades of private practice in London, Ontario, Nancy VanderSchaaf has built her work around a steady, relational approach β meeting individuals and couples where they are and helping them move toward genuine well-being. Holding a Ph.D. in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, along with advanced training in marriage and family therapy and certifications in grief, trauma, and couples work, she brings both depth of training and the kind of grounded presence that comes from long experience.
Nancy works with men, women, and older adults navigating a wide range of challenges: relationship conflict, infidelity, family of origin wounds, domestic abuse and trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and the particular exhaustion of professional burnout. She pays close attention to the whole person β emotional, psychological, and spiritual β and to the strengths people carry but may not yet see in themselves. For clients whose nervous systems are already overtaxed by the habit of never truly being off-call, that attention to rest and restoration is part of the clinical work, not an afterthought.
Married for more than fifty years and a grandmother herself, Nancy brings personal rootedness to her work with families and couples. Sessions are available online.
