About Me

With over a decade of clinical experience spanning addiction treatment centres and high-acuity mental health hospitals, I’ve worked with people facing some of the most complex psychological challenges that exist. Those years have refined both my technical skills and my understanding of what people genuinely need when they are struggling — which is rarely what it appears to be on the surface.

My practice is collaborative at its core. The therapeutic relationship isn’t a backdrop to the real work; it is the work. Within a space of genuine trust and non-judgment, we can examine life’s challenges in a way that creates actual possibility rather than just analysis. I work with the whole person — their history, their current circumstances, their strengths, and the patterns that are causing them difficulty — and I design an approach accordingly.

I draw on cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and mindfulness-based techniques, combining them in ways that fit each person’s situation rather than applying a formula. Over the years I’ve found that what clients initially identify as a weakness is often something more complex — sometimes a strength that’s been misdirected, sometimes a long-standing adaptation that made sense once and no longer does. That distinction matters enormously for how we approach change.

I have particular experience supporting people through periods of significant transition, uncertainty, and crisis — moments when the ordinary ways of coping feel insufficient and something has to shift. These are often the periods that are most disorienting and also, with the right kind of support, most generative.

I’m committed to ongoing professional development and genuine self-reflection as a practitioner. Staying current isn’t just about technique — it’s about maintaining the kind of honest engagement that good therapy requires.

I offer free consultations. That initial conversation is a chance to discuss what you’re carrying, understand how I work, and decide whether this feels like the right fit. You’re welcome to reach out by email to begin.
